Privacy policy

Information used to build your plan

Budgetr stores your account identity, email address, household invitations, and the income, bills, debt balances, payment history, dates, notes, and preferences you enter. When you choose to connect accounts through Plaid, Budgetr receives supported account names, account identifiers and masks, balances, transaction activity, and available loan or credit details. Availability depends on your institution and your permissions.

How information is used

We use this information to sign you in, save your budget, calculate payment schedules, show spending and balances, and share your plan with household members you invite. Budgetr does not initiate bill payments or bank transfers. Budgetr does not sell your personal information or use connected financial information for advertising.

Service providers and sharing

Vercel hosts the app, Neon provides authentication and database storage, Plaid connects financial institutions, and Hostinger provides email delivery. These providers process information needed for those services. People you invite to your household can view and edit the shared budget and manage its connected accounts. The primary owner can remove their access. Only invite people you trust. Service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service.

Optional bank connections

Linking a bank is optional. You choose which accounts to share in Plaid. Budgetr receives connection tokens, not your bank password. Plaid has its own privacy policy. Disconnecting stops Budgetr from refreshing that connection; imported budget entries and saved transaction history may remain until removed separately.

Your choices and requests

You can edit budget entries, review included accounts, and disconnect institutions in Connections. In the mobile app, open Your account and choose Delete my account to delete your login, owned budgets, and their connected bank records. Confirm using your password or an email code. For other access or correction requests, email hello@budgetr.co from your account address. We verify identity before changing or disclosing account data; do not email passwords, access tokens, or full account numbers. See our retention and deletion policy.

Cookies, device storage, and logs

Authentication uses session cookies on the website and a protected session credential in the mobile device keychain. Optional payday reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Browser storage supports connection return flows and preferences such as automatic syncing. Hosting and authentication providers process technical information such as IP addresses, timestamps, and errors to operate and secure the service.
